El mundial de fútbol de 1978 en Argentina: victoria deportiva y derrota moral

En este artículo se recoge la difícil convivencia entre la pasión futebolística argentina y la situación de dictadura en la que se desarrolló el Campeonato del Mundo de 1978. En aquellos momentos se manisfestaron las complejas relaciones entre el amor al fútbol y la ideología nacionalista de la Junta militar. El resultado de ese conflicto, algo que todavía en la actualidad genera debates acerca de lo correcto o erróneo de las actitudes adoptadas hace más de un cuarto de siglo.

This article deals with the complicated coexistence of the Argentine obsession with football and the dictatorial situation when the World Cup was played in 1978. At that time the relationship between love of football and the nationalist ideology of the military Junta was obvious. The resulta of this conflict is moral ambivalence about the final victory of the Argentine national team, something that even now is a source of argument as to whether the attitudes shown over a quarter of a century ago were right or wrong.
