Investimento em infraestrutura do mundial FIFA 2014: “Quem ganha?” e “Quem paga a fatura?”

Considerando a realização dos megaeventos esportivos no Brasil, este estudo buscou refletir sobre aspectos relativos à Copa FIFA2014 – impactos e investimentos econômicos previstos; origens dos investimentos; justificativas dos governos em sediá-la; investimento do poder público baiano em estádio para a Copa e quadras para Educação Física. O estudo se configurou em análise documental, com análise de conteúdo. Constatou-se a previsão de incorporação de R$ 183,2 bilhões ao PIB e investimento de R$ 23,8 bilhões, sendo a divulgação do país e os possíveis benefícios à economia as principais justificativas. Em relação ao poder público baiano notou-se um investimento de R$ 268,1 milhões em estádio, enquanto 42,2% das escolas não dispõem de quadras para as aulas de Educação Física. Conclui-se que há um alto investimento do dinheiro público e que, embora haja previsão de benefícios à economia, não há garantia de os mesmos ocorrerem. 

Whereas the achievement of sporting mega-events in Brazil, this study sought to reflect on aspects of FIFA2014 World Cup – impacts and economic investments expected; sources of investment; justifications of governments to host it, the public investment in Bahia Stadium for the Cup and for courts to physical education. The study was set up in document analysis with content analysis. It was showed the prediction of the expense of $ 183.2 billion to GDP (gross national product) and investment of R $ 23.8 billion, being the disclosure of the country and the possible benefits to the economy the main reasons. In relation to the government of Bahia it showed an investment of $ 268.1 million in the stadium while 42.2% of schools do not have courts for physical education classes. It is concluded that there is a large investment of public money and that although there are predicted benefits to the economy, there is no guarantee that they will happen.
