O herói e a cultura: um estudo do filme Heleno

Nesse artigo, pretendo, por meio da análise do filme Heleno (2012), apoiado na leitura do livro biográfico Nunca houve um homem como Heleno (2012), expor as múltiplas faces desse atleta em sua relação com o ethos da sociedade brasileira das décadas de 1930 a 1950. Com o auxílio de parte da bibliografia da Antropologia Social, no que concerne à cultura, bem como aquela das Ciências Sociais que tratam do conceito de herói, acredito ser possível relacionar o atleta ao contexto social no qual estava inserido. Entender como a cultura molda o indivíduo foi fundamental para compreender como Heleno é ao mesmo tempo produto e agente desse meio social no qual está inserido.

In this article, I intend by analyzing the film Heleno (2012), supported by the reading of the biographical book Nunca houve um homem como Heleno (2012), expose the multiple faces of this player in his relation with the ethos of Brazilian society of the years 1930-1950. With the aid of the literature of social anthropology, in which regards to culture, as well as that of the social sciences that deal with the concept of hero, I believe it is possible to relate the athlete to the social context in which it was inserted. Understand how culture shapes the individual was key to comprehend how Heleno is both product and agent of that social environment in which it is inserted.
