Sociologia do esporte: uma homenagem a Norbert Elias, Eric Dunning e Pierre Bourdieu

Este artigo teve como objetivo abordar a sociologia do esporte, especificamente com os referenciais das teorias de Norbert Elias, tendo em seu discípulo Eric Dunning o pesquisador mais longevo dos temas sobre esportes e sociedade, por isso considerado o “pai da Sociologia do Esporte”. Objetivou, também, trazer as convergências de Bourdieu e Elias, elucidar compreensões equivocadas da sociologia figuracional e realçar as contribuições de todos esses autores para o desenvolvimento dos estudos sociológicos do esporte.

The purpose of this article was to approach Sociology of Sports specifically with the references of Norbert Elias’ theories, having in his disciple Eric Dunning the longest researcher of the themes on sports and society, therefore, he was considered the “father of Sociology of Sport.” The purpose of this article is to bring the convergences of Bourdieu and Elias, to elucidate mistaken understandings of the Figurational Sociology and to highlight the contributions of all these authors to the development of the sociological studies of sport.
