A linguagem bélica do futebol: a metáfora conceptual futebol é guerra

Neste trabalho, a linguagem do futebol é analisada através da metáfora. Esta, por sua vez, é abordada segundo a concepção cognitiva de Lakoff e Johnson (1980) para os quais ela exerceria, além da função estética, também uma função cognitiva. O trabalho busca analisar a representação do futebol como guerra no discurso jornalístico esportivo em uma pesquisa realizada, principalmente, no jornal Lance!, edição do Rio de Janeiro, e a influência que o linguajar bélico, trazido pela inserção da metáfora conceptual “futebol é guerra” na linguagem do futebol, exerce sobre o comportamento dos envolvidos com o evento esportivo dentro e fora dos campos, uma vez que os reflexos dessa influência já puderam ser observados no discurso, seja em marcas na linguagem de jogadores e outros protagonistas do futebol e até no comportamento da população e dos governantes de alguns países.

In this paper, the language of soccer is analyzed through metaphor. This, in turn, is approached according to the cognitive conception of Lakoff and Johnson (1980) for whom it would exercise, besides the aesthetic function, also a cognitive function. The paper aims to analyze the representation of soccer as a war in sports journalistic discourse in a research conducted, mainly, in the newspaper Lance!edition of Rio de Janeiro, and the influence that the warlike language, brought by the insertion of the conceptual metaphor “football is war” in “football” language exerts on the behavior of those involved with the sporting event of soccer in and out of the fields, since the reflections of this influence could already be observed in the speech, be it in marks in the language of players and other protagonists of soccer and even on the behavior of the population and rulers of some countries.
