O futebol no Brasil além de ser uma prática hegemônica é também um símbolo da cultura e identidade nacional, isso não se dá somente pela frequência que ouvimos falar sobre o esporte nos meios de comunicação, mas também por estar inserido mesmo que involuntariamente no nosso dia a dia, por exemplo nas conversas, nas atitudes e nas expressões de linguagens advindas do futebol. Esta ligação da sociedade brasileira com o futebol é mantida e difundida, principalmente, pela figura dos jogadores, pois são eles que mantêm acesa a alegria e o desejo de consumir esta prática cultural, através de suas jogadas dribles e modos de agir. No contemporâneo, estes atores sociais têm conseguido manter a atenção dos aficionados mesmo quando não estão jogando, através do espaço aberto pelas redes sociais. Ao observar esta nova realidade e também o aumento do desejo dos jovens em jogar futebol no exterior que surgiu a vontade de compreender como os jovens futebolistas interagem em seus perfis nas redes sociais com o intuito de manter contato com a cultura brasileira. Como forma de identificar e interpretar essa realidade que realizamos uma netnografia com jovens futebolistas, entre 18 e 24 anos, que exercessem sua profissão no continente europeu. A netnografia foi realizada durante quatro meses (maio, junho, julho e agosto) de 2014 ao que destacamos, que durante este período foram acompanhados nove jovens em 4 países diferentes (Alemanha, Áustria, Finlândia e Itália). Como resultado deste acompanhamento identificamos quatro categorias com maior representatividade nas interações dos futebolistas pesquisados que são: Família, Religiosidade, Linguagem e Hábitos e consumo cultural, e foi através destas que desenvolvemos nossas interpretações através do diálogo entre teoria e campo. Isso nos possibilitou perceber que os jovens futebolistas têm utilizado as redes sociais, não para algo novo, mas sim como uma ferramenta para reproduzir o que já acontecia, fazendo com que o mundo virtual (on line) seja uma continuação do mundo real (off line).

The connection of Brazilian society with football is maintained and disseminated, mainly, by the players’ picture, they keep the happiness and the desire to consume this cultural practice, through playing, dribbling, and acting way. In contemporary, these social actors has managed to keep the attention of the fans even when they are not playing through the open space by social networks. By observing this new reality and also the increased desire of young guys to play football abroad that came the desire to understand how the young players interact in their profiles on social networks in order to connect with Brazilian culture. As a way to identify and interpret the reality that we performed a netnography with young footballers from 18 to 24 years, who exercise their occupation in Europe. Netnography was held for four months (May, June, July and August) 2014 to highlight that, during this period nine young players were observed in 4 different countries (Germany, Austria, Finland, Italy). As the result of the monitoring were identified four categories with the largest representation in the surveyed interactions of players who are: Family, Religiosity, Language and Habits and Cultural Consumption, and it was through these that our interpretations developed through dialogue between theory and field. This enabled us to realize that young footballers have used social networks, not for something new, but rather as a tool to reproduce what already happened, making the virtual world (online) being a continuation of the real world (offline).
