Operários da bola

Esta dissertação busca abordar a relação do futebol com o operariado da cidade de Itajaí, nas primeiras décadas do século XX, demonstrando que o futebol, mais do que uma atividade esportiva, servia também como meio de sociabilidade, de interação e de compartilhamento de experiências (muitas deles já vivenciadas no espaço profissional) e que contribuíram para a formação da identidade operária de Itajaí. A dinâmica que envolveu o futebol em Itajaí era também parte do que ocorria no Brasil; uma vez que esse esporte, primeiramente, passou a ser praticado pela elite, para posteriormente atingir o trabalhador, o pobre e o negro. A ruptura do elo entre futebol/elite para sua popularização em Itajaí é o momento em que passo a dedicar mais atenção. Passagem esta que foi motivada pelas práticas elitistas de impedimento, pelos preconceitos de classe e étnico e pela ação daqueles que eram “proibidos” de praticar aquele esporte tão elitista. Será também analisada a questão do operário-jogador, sobretudo no período de 1930 até os anos 50, pois ao mesmo tempo em que praticava o futebol no time da empresa o jogador era também trabalhador da Companhia. Outros pontos serão abordados, tais como o envolvimento de empresas com o futebol e a relação de políticos com jogadores e com o futebol. Para viabilizar a concretização do trabalho, foram buscadas algumas fontes fundamentais. Dentre elas, destaco as entrevistas, os depoimentos, as fontes impressas, os documentos do Arquivo Público de Itajaí e algumas atas das Sociedades operárias.

This dissertation search to address the relationship of football with the working of the city of Itajaí in the first decades of the twentieth century, showing that football, more than a sport, it also served as a means of socialization, interaction and sharing of experiences (many of them have experienced in a professional Space) and who contributed to the formation of working class identity of Itajaí. The dynamics involved in football Itajaí was also part of what happened in Brazil, since the sport first, began to be practiced by the elite, and then reaching the worker, the poor and black. The breaking of the link between football/elite for its popularization in Itajaí is the moment you step in devoting more attention. This passage that was motivated by elitist practices of impediment, by class and ethnic prejudices and by the action of those who were “forbidden” to engage in that sport as elitist. Will be also examined the issue of worker-player, especially from 1930 until the ’50s. For while practicing football team in the company the player was also employed by the Company. Other points will be addressed, such as the involvement of companies with the football and political relationship with players and football. To facilitate the completion of the work I sought a few sources that were essential. Among them highlight the interviews, testimonies, printed sources, documents of the Public Archives of Itajaí and some minutes of operating companies.
