Os significados do futebol amador recifense a partir de sua interdependência com o futebol profissional

O futebol brasileiro nasce das elites e passa por um complexo processo de difusão no território. Em pouco tempo, adquire popularidade nas várias camadas sociais e torna-se uma das grandes paixões brasileiras. Durante esse processo, vai sendo praticado em diferentes figurações sociais, as quais se consolidarão no cotidiano das cidades. Entre elas, o futebol amador. Tendo o futebol amador como objeto de estudo, o presente trabalho buscou investigar os significados desta prática na cidade do Recife, através das relações de interdependência estabelecidas com o futebol profissional, a partir da perspectiva de quem o constrói cotidianamente. Tendo como base a teoria elisiana das figurações sociais e o conceito bourdiesiano de campo, este estudo identifica e analisa uma das teias de relações interdependentes que se realizam na cidade em torno deste futebol, identificando diferentes significados. Ao mesmo tempo e em diferentes níveis, o futebol amador representa um “celeiro de craques” e um “celeiro de amizades”.

Brazilian soccer was born in the élite and went through a complex process of diffusion throughout the territory. Soon, by gaining popularity in the various social classes, soccer has become a major Brazilian passion. In this process, it hás been practiced in several social figurations which have been consolidated in the everyday of Brazilian cities and towns. Among them, there is the amateur soccer. By having the amateur soccer as objects of study, this paper attempts to investigate the meanings of this practice in the city of Recife, through the interdependent relations established with professional soccer, from the perspective of those who build it daily. Based on the Eliasian theory of social figurations and on the Bourdieusian concept of field, this study identifies and analyzes one of the webs of interdependent relationships which take place around this kind of soccer, in the city, by identifying its different meanings. At the same time and at different levels, the amateur soccer is a “barn of star footballers” and a “barn of friends.”
