“Un defensor que ni imaginam…”: sobre futebol, ditadura e resistência

Este artigo tem o objetivo de estabelecer a relação entre a equipe de futebol Defensor Sporting Club do Uruguai com o regime ditatorial vigente no país nos anos 1970, evidenciando o papel do clube que se apresenta como um local de resistência ao governo estabelecido e, através desta relação, demonstrar o impacto da conquista do título nacional em 1973 por esta equipe, que até então era coadjuvante no cenário futebolístico nacional. Para tal feito, contamos com uso de pesquisa bibliográfica e análise de material audiovisual contendo depoimentos de ex-integrantes das equipes esportiva e diretiva do clube.

This article aims to establish the relationship between the soccer team Defensor Sporting of Uruguay with the current dictatorial period in the country in the 1970s highlighting the role of the club that presents itself as an established government resistance spot and, through this relationship, demonstrate the impact of the national title conquest in 1973 by this hitherto it appears as a secondary team in the national soccer scene. For this feat, we have use of literature and audiovisual material analysis containing testimonies from former members of the sports team and the club policy.
